Build a trail that leads home
- Start with a recognizable point near Barry.
- Mark the first junction where a returning player could choose the wrong branch.
- Add another marker when the route changes direction or passes a confusing doorway.
- On the return trip, follow the marked route back through those known points.

Lit glowsticks also guide the approach to the starting elevator. That example shows the basic purpose of a marker trail: it highlights a route the player can follow through a dark space.
Keep the team’s marker system consistent
If glowsticks mean “this way back to Barry,” do not use the same trail to advertise every unexplored side room. Tell teammates when you extend the route and use a visible room feature to explain where a marker was placed.
When someone becomes separated, ask them to identify their last recognized marker or doorway. Reconnecting from a shared point is easier than asking two lost players to keep walking toward each other through unfamiliar branches.
Combine glowsticks with Sketch-A-Map
Sketch-A-Map provides an overhead view of nearby space, teammates, and Barry. Glowsticks leave a physical route for players to follow. Use the map to resolve an unclear branch, then keep the trail useful for the rest of the group.
No verified rule is established here for a glowstick lifetime, enemy distraction effect, or color-coded bonus. Treat them as navigation tools and follow the current item prompt for placement. Do not build a survival plan around an unsupported effect.
