Recognize the robot before closing in
Watch for the small green robot moving through the room. Its patrol is the chance to identify it before an alarm turns the encounter into a rush toward your group. Keep an exit route in mind while exploring, rather than choosing one only after it spots you.

If the alarm sounds, move away along the route you have kept available and warn nearby teammates. Do not bring the rest of the group toward the robot to inspect the sound. Its demonstrated acceleration means remaining close is a poor way to assess the threat.
No safe blast radius or reliable countdown is established here. Treat the alarm as a prompt to react, rather than waiting a guessed number of seconds for a supposedly safe escape window.
Use the beta shutdown tactic cautiously
In the beta demonstration, Boogie Bot had a forward-facing detection cone and could be disabled temporarily by hitting the back of its head with a thrown object. A fly swatter and horn were also demonstrated as options in that build.
Those details describe the beta encounter. They do not prove that every release-build Boogie Bot can be safely approached from behind, that every object works, or that a hit permanently destroys it.
If you attempt the rear-hit approach, keep an escape route available and watch the robot's response before moving closer. A temporary disable is an opportunity to leave, not evidence that the area is permanently safe.
Prioritize separation over a speculative counter
The objective is to survive the encounter and continue the run. You do not need a confirmed kill method to decide to back away from an explosive enemy.
If the robot does not respond as expected, stop repeating the same close-range attempt. Reposition and keep teammates clear. Exact release-version detection angles, explosion timing, damage, and disable duration are not established here.
